December 5, 2010 "I want my teeth to look whiter! How can I whiten them?"
90% of patients can improve their smile with whitening products. The least expensive method is to use over the counter products. I recommend you choose a name brand product and follow instructions. A second option is to use a take home tray system from your dentist. This system uses trays specially made to fit your mouth and uses a higher percentage whitening agent. Both of these systems are safe if you follow instructions and use them for the recommended time. Results vary by indivdual, but the highest percentage of patients say the process is worth it. You can improve your smile with whitenening!
January 19, 2011 Some people want or need a greater change than whitening can produce. Due to intrinsic staining, large fillings, and misaligned teeth, a more involved treatment will be needed to get a nice result. We accomplish this with all ceramic crowns and veneers, which can strengthen and beautify teeth. With these crowns you can correct discoloration and minor spaces or crowding. Crowns cover the whole tooth while veneers usually only cover the visible face of the tooth. If you look in other areas of our website you can view pictures of these restorations. Another version of veneers are called no prep veneers. When applicable, these veneers can involve much less tooth reduction and still improve esthetics dramatically.
In order to complete any of these restorations a patient needs to have healthy soft tissue and bone. Nice, pink, healthy gums add to the beauty of the final smile.
